The finals of the 10,000 meters long distance race at the Rio 2016 Olympic games, demonstrated one of the timeless truths about the attitude of champions. The current champion Mo Farah of Great Britain retained his title by demonstrating that attitude. It is the attitude that says, “Champions run to win…they don’t enjoy staying down.” At the early lap of the game, Farah had fallen to the ground due to some kind of accidental feet buckling. But instead of bemoaning his fate on the ground, Farrah had jumped up immediately as if nothing had happened and continued to run. Farah eventually bounced back from his fallen position to win the race and retained his title. Friends, the lesson here is that life may cause you to slip sometimes, accidental feet buckling may cause you to be on the ground in one area of your life…But by all means, get back into the game. The game of life does not stop just because you fell. So, run like a champion, determine to win, refuse to stay down…Champions get into the race with the determination to win.#KeepAdvancing!
“…Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air” (1 Cor. 9:26 NIV).
