DEVOTIONAL: Sweatless Triumph Is My Portion (Part 1)
One of the most impactful strategies of God that is divinely ordained to energize our Christian growth, guarantee our success in life, improve our business and career with an assuredness that ensures supernatural victory in our prayer life, and all round advancements in every area of our lives is the strategy that reminds us of the inheritance of the "sweatless triumph" that we have in Christ Jesus.
Years ago, I struggled in my personal power, dexterity and sagacity to please God. I tried to impress Him. I tried to do and do...and struggled to obey and obey according to the Law of Moses...but realized that the Grace component of the gospel was missing in my efforts.
So, one day as I was reading the word of God in Matthew 11: 28, I saw this standing invitation from Jesus to us which says,
"28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)
Friend, that sounded like me or probably you!
And as I began to ponder on that word, I heard this phrase,
"Sweatless triumph is my portion for you..." Wow!
I said: "Dear Lord, what does sweatless triumph mean?"
And as I waited for an answer I read verse 29 of that scripture again. It says
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me..."
Instantly I knew what the Lord was trying to get across to me. I knew that he was prompting me to see that there are two kinds of yokes. The yoke that comes from the Law of Moses and the yoke that comes from him. One yoke is full of sweat and the other yoke is sweat less. One yoke demands my obedience through FEAR and the other yoke draws out my obedience through LOVE.
And as I continued to read..., verse 30 of that scripture sealed it up for me with this statement that came directly from the lips of the Master,
"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light..."
Friend, as we learn of Jesus, and what he did for us by grace at Calvary, and believe in that finished work, and appropriate the sacrifice of his blood as the down payment for our redemption, not just for our souls, but for every area of our lives, a fresh cycle of blessing is created for us.
(TO CONTINUE TOMORROW). Let us pray:
Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you for the blood of Jesus that was shed on my behalf at Calvary. I thank you because that blood is still speaking for me today. That blood is still speaking for my soul today. That blood is still speaking for my family today. That blood is still speaking for my finances today. That blood is still speaking for my health today. That blood is still speaking for my deliverance today. That blood is still speaking for my ministry and career today, in Jesus name. Sweat less triumph is my portion in every area of my life today. Hallelujah!!!
