ADVANCEMENT DEVOTIONAL: Sweatless Triumph Is My Portion (Part 4).
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17).
As we delve further into the subject of the sweatless triumph that we have in Christ Jesus, it is needful for us to remember that how God described us in his word is superior to how we see ourselves from a natural standpoint. Not only that, it is even much more important to appreciate the fact that how God sees us is far better than how our neighbors see us!
So, how does God see us?
God sees us the way he sees Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!!!
He sees us as brand new creations in Christ Jesus, he sees us as his righteous children in Christ Jesus, he sees us as his delivered children in Christ Jesus, he sees us as his prospered children in Christ Jesus, he sees us as his healed children in Christ Jesus, he sees us as his joyful, awesome, victorious children in Christ Jesus.
That is why the scripture above declares that if any man (that includes any woman) be "in Christ" he or she becomes a brand new creature or creation, and old things are passed away and everything becomes new in the inner-man of the child of God.
What does that mean? It simply means that a new species, a special kind of human being, a different kind of homo sapien comes into being. This new kind of person has become "regenerated" with the "new genes of God" (Titus
Positive Self-Image Or Christ-Image
For example, I discovered the need as a young believer years ago while studying the epistles of Paul to the church to form the habit of circling with a highlighter phrases like "in him," in Christ," "in whom," etc. whenever I see them in the epistles. Somebody once asked me what the big deal about that was during one of our seminars called the Advancement seminar. And with a smile on my face, I replied: "The big deal about that is that they help to change our attitudes about life. They help us to develop a Christ-image of ourselves instead of what the world calls a positive self-image, self-esteem, and self-worth.
Many self-help books out there are trying to teach people how to become positive about themselves (mostly through self-willed efforts) but when you begin to see yourself the way God sees you in Christ Jesus, you will develop a positive image about yourself without having to sweat it out, when you see your business to be in Christ, you will not imagine failure for that business, when you see your ministry to be in Christ, you will see a power-soaked, word-based, miracle-laden ministry like Christ's, when you see your prayers going to the Father-God in Christ, your faith will be inspired to receive the answers to your petition. Hallelujah!!!
So, step out today as a high-flyer in Christ and do your job with the spirit of excellence, go for that business with the attitude of a champion in Christ, talk to your spouse and children today with a knowing that your family is in Christ Jesus, have a bounce on your feet again, rekindle your hope again, for you have come into Christ, you have a NEW NAME-TAG, it is the name-tag of TRIUMPH-the triumph that manifests because of what God did for us in Christ Jesus. (To continue tomorrow).
Dear Father , Open my eyes today, to see who you made me become in Christ Jesus. I declare that I am a new creation today, I declare that favor goes ahead of me and with me today. I declare that that favor is neutralizing every yoke of misfortune in any area of my life, in Jesus name. Thank you Lord!
